Darren Flynn's Medical

For Darren and Barb, a second chance meant the excitement of a new direction by owning their own custom pottery business.
After a doctor’s visit revealed an aggressive cancer, the hope for a second chance takes on an all new meaning. Darren Flynn is fighting for his life. Doctors found Perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma (Klatskin Tumor), an aggressive cancer found in the bile duct. After several aggressive treatments and the hope of a liver transplant as a cure, doctors have found the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. He is currently listed as Stage 4. There is no Stage 5.
Their dreams of operating their own pottery store—and all the other things we take for granted in the normal pace of life-- are on hold as Darren fights on, with the help of his loving wife Barb and their two children Joseph and Mattie. While most 49 year old men are in their prime, Darren’s life is day to day. Unable to work because of his treatments, their nightmare isn’t just relegated to fighting the killer disease ravaging his body: it’s financial as well. While Darren’s family rallies to his side to assist, the financial burden of life extending treatments is taking its toll.
