Darren Mahoney

Hello friends, This is Melissa and I am fundraising for our dear friend, Darren.

As most of you know, Darren became sick in 2015 after high blood pressure caused him to have a major stroke. Darren went into a coma during that time and also went into renal failure. Darren is a fighter and has been through a lot over the years. Scott and I have been at Darren’s side since 2015 fighting along side of him and helping him heal. After caring for Darren in our home for several years, it became medically necessary to have Darren placed in a nursing home to receive more care than what we could provide. Darren recently went through the process for a kidney transplant but due to his fragile state, he was denied the transplant. Needless to say, we were heartbroken to get this news. We have decided with the blessing of his medical care team and a lawyer, that Darren is at a stable place currently and can be moved back into our home in Iron Mountain, MI. Before Darren can make this big move, we have some financial hurdles to endure.

We have decided to fundraise for Darren to help make this move happen sooner than later for him. Darren has been living in a nursing home for a few years now and as a 50 year old man, this has been depressing for him.

The fundraising dollars will be used for lawyer fees to switch his legal guardianship from WI to MI. Bedroom furniture, and also new clothing items.

We appreciate any help to bring Darren home.
