Darryl's Cancer Journey

For those who do not know yet our father was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer and an Aortic Aneurysm.

His journey began in November when he went in for extreme pain in his hip. He had already had 2 hip replacements and found out there is extensive damage that requires a complete reconstructive surgery. Due to the extent of the damage the surgeon wanted a complete medical workup to determine if he was medically stable to undergo the extensive surgery.

During the lab work and multiple scans they discovered a large Aortic Aneurysm and Colorectal cancer which will require months of treatment.

He will start with 6 weeks of radiation (5-days a week) followed by 8-10 rounds of Folfox chemo. After treatment, if the cancer has shrunk they will go in for surgery to remove the cancer.

Since November my brother Justin has been taking our father to appointments almost daily, some days include several appointments. He has missed a lot of work and our father hasn't been able to work since November. Medical and living expenses are adding up fast. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is just the beginning of the journey.
