Daryl Lewis Brain Cancer Battle

I will be running the Hamilton Around the Bay 30km race on March 26th in support of Daryl Lewis.

Daryl was diagnosed with an aggressive type of brain cancer, a grade 4 glioblastoma, in April 2022 and has been battling it ever since. He is a warrior who has a passion for cooking (very talented), fishing, and bonfires with rock music. Most importantly, he is an amazing Dad (who can fix everything) to his three daughters Stormi, Jaimie, and Brooke, and a Papa to his first granddaughter, Magnolia. Daryl is supported by his amazing wife, Gayle, who has been an absolute rock for the whole family (seriously, a superstar).

Daryl is currently undergoing the standard of care treatment (surgery, radiation & chemo), while rehabbing his speech, vision and mobility due to severe post-op complications following his resection back in April. Unfortunately, conventional treatment for this type of tumour does not offer a cure. The funds will be used to invest in alternative therapies & give Daryl the fighting chance he deserves to battle a cancer that gives no mercy.
