NPC USA BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS

My name is Derrick Hannifin, I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I went to Shadow Moutain High School and got into fitness at a young age.  At age 12, I got my first set of weights and began playing Pop Warner Football. I played football and ran track all through high school. After that I played one year at Phoenix Community College on a partial scholarship as a defensive middle line backer. As I was pursuing Phoenix Fire Department I was working security at a night club and had a devastating compound fracture to my right lower leg. This incident led me to a new career path since I wasn't able to pass the physical for the fire department. I then got certified through ISSA to become a personal trainer. After that I started working at Larry Reynold's private gym where I prepped for my first two competitions. I placed in the top 5 last year but my goal is to place in the top 3 to proceed on to nationals. Join me on my journey to achieve my dreams and goals and inspire others to do the same.
