DashDash Kidney Dialysis

DashDash is her owner's, Paula Ratoza's, heart dog.  She competes in dog sports - agility, obedience, rally, scentwork.  While at a dogshow, DashDash contracted Leptospirosis. In 48 hours, she went from healthy and active to fighting for her life, having both her liver and kidneys severely compromised.  Because her treatment was delayed due to her not displaying the typical symptons, DashDash's health deteriorated tremendously.   It wasn't until her second dialysis treatment that the veterinarians involved could hope for her recovery. 

DashDash is out of the hospital now, and on the road to recovery, but still requiring veterinary care.  Veterinary bills at 3 specialists and 3 ermergency clinics have accumulated.  DashDash was sent home with hundreds of dollars of fluids and medications.  Frequent blood tests are still needed to monitor her progress.  It won't be known for months if DashDash's kidneys will recover completely.
