Dasie ongoing care
Donation protected
This is Dasie , she came into the rescue last weekend due to her owner having to go into hospital and being poorly…..
Dasie is partially sighted , infact she’s practically blind ….. she also came in with quite a cut to her front leg …..
Dasie is 20 yr of age and 16’3 ….. she lost her sight in her old home so adjusted well as her sight got worse ….. it’s been quite difficult for Dasie since coming into the rescue …. She’s been unsettled and been unaware of where her fencing is and other obstacles in her paddock …. We moved her very quickly into a post and rail paddock with another horse to guide her ,and to help her try and settle …..
Since having Dasie we’ve had to adapt to help her , we’ve had the vet out to bandage her leg and we have antibiotics and pain relief twice a day ,and the vets are out again tomorrow for her, to clean and redress the leg and get her microchipped …..
The trustees have all agreed on a plan of action to accommodate Dasie whilst she’s with us (a few sleepless nights have been had over this ) ,the committee have all agreed that the best thing for Dasie long term ,will be to stay at the rescue and be our second permanent resident along side Ben ….
To be able to look after Dasie we need to raise some funds for her , not just to cover the vet bills but also for additional fencing to reinforce our existing post and rail ,around her paddock , special distant electrical tape insulators , electric tape, along with more expensive items like a large open field shelter for her and Ben for the winter . We have decided to use our MudControl Slabs that people have been so kindly buying for us at the front of their paddock which can get muddy , once they are delivered .WGS Tree services have also kindly said we can have a few lorry loads of wood chip for the paddock aswell ……
We absolutely hate to ask for help as we know how tough things are financially for everyone at the moment ,but after the horrendous vet bills for Morena and more recently little Jimmy , we are only managing to cover general weekly costs and vet bills at the moment ……. So we are setting up a Go Fund Me to try and get all the bits Dasie needs before the really bad weather hits ….. even if you can just spare a few pounds every single penny will help, and all money raised will go toward Dasie’s things , we want to try to make her time with us as comfortable and accommodating to her needs as we possibly can …….
