Support Dave and Debbie

Over the last few weeks, Dave has been experiencing medical issues, which have escalated in severity to the point that he was hospitalized two weeks ago. First in Boulder, then to a neuro unit at Swedish in Denver. While the root cause of this problem is not totally yet clear, he has stabilized to the point where he can move to closer to home, going next to a rehab facility in Thornton, for PT and OT.

His neurological symptoms impede his speech and motor functions. To say the least, this is both scary and frustrating for someone who has never moved or talked slowly and is not used to being knocked down. Dave is in good spirits, though, and working as hard at this challenge as he does at everything else.

Debbie has spent her time with him in the hospital and caring for their kids. Their neighborhood friends are helping as much as possible, and thankfully, Dave’s dad is in town to help as well.

Whistling Boar is their family’s sole source of income, and is running at a reduced capacity. The timeline for recovery isn’t yet clear, so we don’t know what the road ahead looks like, but it will likely include physical and occupational therapy once he’s released from the hospital. So the pause on their income coupled with looming medical bills is very stressful. We can’t “magic wand” away all the immeasurable stress that Debbie and Dave are going through, but we can help with one source of stress: Keeping bills paid while Dave is working to recover.
