Hi Everyone,
Video Dave here.
How often have you witnessed a friend, relative, or business associate after they crashed and burned and said, "I didn't know they needed help," or, "They should have reached out...".
Well, as embarrassed as I am to say, "I NEED HELP."
I never imagined I would be in this position again, especially since surviving THE PLAGUE and LOCKDOWN of 2020.
2020 was brutal for the entire World. It hit my friends and me in Vegas especially hard since many of us were 1099 workers and didn't qualify for unemployment, PPP, or stimulus money.
I scraped by with the help of my Brother after I had maxed out every credit card, sold anything I had of value on eBay and Offer-up, and canceled everything I could, but it was pretty tough.
In 2019 my FICO was over 750. Not so good today.
At least I didn't have a family, mortgage, employees, or other substantial financial responsibilities like most here.
I became homeless but was lucky to have still my downgraded office/studio, where I slept on a couch and rode the storm out.
I did, however, qualify for MEDICAID, which turned out to be a blessing and then became a nightmare. (More on this later.)
Things turned around for me in 2021. I did a couple of big video productions that got me current with most of my obligations. I felt great, lost some of the pandemic weight, met a girl, and fell in love. Became a (Step) Dad.
Last Christmas was fantastic.
In 2022, it all started to fall apart again. My romance and engagement crumbled, which really sucked because I loved being a Dad to a bright six-year-old. For a short while, I truly experienced what it was to be a Dad. A perfect Dad.
I still had not found a show to work lights or sound for. The TV jobs dried up also. I had zero income and was becoming scared.
I'll speed this up.
My MEDICAID assigned APRN didn't like my PSA (prostate) numbers. Sent me to a Urologist. The guy is a jerk and immediately suggested doing a PROSTE BIOPSY.
Instead, I agree to go on FLOWMAX for my BPH and do new tests in three months.
In June, I started having dizzy spells, momentary blackouts, short-term memory problems, and light hand motor skill problems.
My first thought is Heart Disease and Alzheimers since it is hereditary in my family.
Nope. Not ALZ, my heart is strong, and my cholesterol numbers are perfect, especially for a man of massive weight.
More blood work and a few specialists. My PSA has spiked, doubling from last year. Not good.
After a painful, invasive, and embarrassing PROSTATE EXAM later, = PROSTATE CANCER.
Very early stage and treatable. OK. I can deal with that.
A few MRIs and CAT SCANs later and still no diagnosis on the other stuff. Their best guess right now, PARKINSON'S. (And yes, it's in my family tree.)
I have to stop typing now. It's taken me a couple days to write this much.
Bottom line, I really need a little help from you to get me through the end of the year and avoid eviction and stuff.
I need just a little to keep my office, my truck, insurance, cell and WIFI until I get things sorted out.
$25 or $50 gets me an Uber or a half tank of gas.
I'm three months behind on my office/home rent of $900 month.
I have known many of my friends here in Vegas for almost ten years. Twenty years for my Branson peeps. I have often done favors and helped out entertainers by shooting or editing video for you, running sound, loaning equipment or even just showing up at a gig to support you. I have always tried to pay it forward.
Thank you.
