On March 27, Dave was tragically taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly. As a papa, husband, brother, nephew, and friend, Dave had an immense and profoundly positive impact on everyone who had the privilege of having him in their lives. Although a reserved and private man, Dave’s dedication and devotion to his family and friends spoke louder than any amount of words ever could. In any situation or task, Dave was always willing to provide assistance, and was able to perfectly balance his support of others with the utmost dedication and care to his own responsibilities and family. There are simply no words to describe just how much he deeply cared for and supported everyone in his life, as well as the positive impacts he had on everyone around him. Although Dave was taken from us far too soon, what he left us with is the true embodiment of what every man should strive to be.
Dave had a deep love and respect for nature and the outdoors, and his dream was to build a self-sufficient farm to provide for his wife Katie, and daughter, Emiliyah. Dave took his role as a provider very seriously, and that is no better exemplified than the relationship he had with his daughter. Emiliyah. She was truly the light of Dave’s life, and this sentiment was reciprocated by Emiliyah, whose eyes would light up every time he’d come home from work, and who deeply admired and revered her papa. No matter what he was dealing with or the amount of work he had on his plate, Dave’s family was always his priority. Dave loved to share his passions with his family and friends, oftentimes taking Emiliyah with him as he worked, teaching her new skills and showing great patience as she grasped new concepts. The positive and supportive values that Dave instilled in Emiliyah will live on, a constant reminder of the great man that he was.
Dave provided more than just necessities, but also a deep love, care, and compassion for his friends and family. The memories of Dave that are left behind are those of a man who could make the impossible possible. Dave had a unique ability to be able to find solutions to problems regardless of prior experience or knowledge, and shared this ability with everyone who needed his help. No matter how monumental or overwhelming the task, Dave was always able to figure out what exactly needed to be completed in order to resolve issues, and worked with great pride, care, and attention to detail. In every aspect of his life, Dave always did everything with the truest dedication, an extension of the love and tenderness that he held in his heart for those whose lives he was always making better.
In the eyes of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dave, he was truly a hero. The man you could call on at any time and he’d be there for you. The man who worked relentlessly to provide the best possible life for his family, while also having the time to be a source of love, joy, and support for them. The man that will always be remembered in the highest regard as his legacy lives on through the love, knowledge, and care that he provided those in his life over the years. Even up to his last moments with us, Dave’s selflessness and instinct to protect his family over himself was on full, heroic display. He will always be remembered as just that, a hero, in every sense of the word and in every aspect of life.
