Dave Gatton Heart Attack

Donation protected
On April 16th 2021 my life changed more than I could ever imagine. In my nearly 65 years of life I had never rode in an ambulance, been an inpatient in a hospital, or had any broken bones. Well all of that suddenly changed on April 16th. I was working outside when I had a shortness of breath and severe chest pains. I came inside and called 9-1-1 and they quickly dispatched an ambulance to my home to check me out. Once they arrived the chest pains had seemed to subside a little and I told them I thought I was going to be okay. Wrong! The chest pains hit again even harder and I knew I was in for my first ever ambulance ride. The EMS driver did a great job maneuvering through Friday afternoon traffic and got me to Piedmont Henry Hospital where I was rushed to a room and they put in a heart catheter. Shortly after that it was determined that I would need to be transported (ambulance ride number two) to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital where I would undergo quadruple bypass surgery. After another exciting ambulance ride during Atlanta Friday rush hour traffic we arrived at the ICU in Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. A Doctor came in and showed me a grainy video on a laptop of my heart. He pointed out something called a "widowmaker" and said that they were going to fix all of that and with enough time I would be as good as new. The bypass surgery was scheduled for Monday April 19th and went very well. I was released from the hospital on April 26th and I continue to recover at home. Hopefully within a few days/weeks I will be able to lift more than 10 pounds and be able to drive again.

I have had a few people ask me how they could help and if I was going to have a Go Fund Me account. If you are able to help with a donation I thank you from the bottom of my repaired heart and if you are unable to make a donation you can be a huge help by sharing this gofundme on all of your social media.

All of the donations will be used to cover the medical expenses that I have incurred.  My 65th birthday was April 17th (the day after my heart attack) so you can think of your donation as helping to buy me a quadruple bypass surgery for my birthday.

Thanks again to all the people who have prayed for me during this time. I wouldn't be here without those prayers. Thank you so much.
