Dave & Jenni Miller - Medical Bills
Donation protected
Dave and Jenni Miller have both been diagnosed with cancer in the past 6 months. Between the two of them they will have 3 surgeries this year and we want to help this fellow small church pastor from Iowa cover the medical costs they'll be facing. Will you help us bless Dave and Jenni?
Here is their story in Dave's own words:
I have been traveling to Africa twice a year for the last 3 years and the last two times I went, I got very ill. We assumed it was some kind of bug or parasite. When I returned this year at the end of February, I did not get much better over the course of a month, so my doctor ordered blood work. That turned into an ultrasound, an MRI, and something called a HIPA test. They found that I had a badly diseased gallbladder and a large cyst, likely also infested (possibly cancerous, but it turned out not to be) on my spleen. On May 3, I had surgery to remove those organs.
In the process of scanning the gallbladder, the doctors discovered a small tumor on my kidney. Tests showed that it is a renal cell carcinoma. On June 26 I will have the tumor and a small part of the kidney removed. This has a 95% chance of success in getting the cancer and allowing me to keep my right kidney.
In the meantime, my wife Jenni has been dealing with a growth on her thyroid. It began to grow rapidly and had to come out. So, on May 24th, she had her thyroid and a large growth removed, which ended up being cancerous. But the good news is that surgery was the treatment that would have been given had we known it was cancer. The doctors believe they removed it all. Jenni is recovering well and we are thankful.
Neither Jenni nor I anticipate having to do chemotherapy or radiation.
