Help Dave's family while he's a cancerous goober

2022 has been a challenging year for my wife, four kids, and me.

At the beginning of the year, I lost a month of work due to the city's occupation by far-right protestors.

Around this time, I also noticed the beginnings of what I would later find out to be a tumour growing.

Diagnosis took until the Fall due to underfunding, staff shortages, and slowdowns from covid in my local public health services. My doctor convinced me to use the private healthcare system to obtain a diagnosis faster.

Using private healthcare ended up draining our family savings, but it quickly got me a cancer diagnosis. If I had stuck with the public system, I would still be waiting for an MRI until January. I'm glad I didn't wait since I discovered that my cancer had already spread to my lymph nodes and lungs.

Between right-wing weirdos, doctor appointments, days off work due to pain, a month off for surgery, and currently being off work from October-March for chemotherapy: we're feeling the financial strain. Between February 2022 and March 2023, I'll likely have missed close to 7 months of work.
