Our incredible brother David desperately needs our help!
If you haven’t heard from David in a while, it is with reason. Around Thanksgiving 2018, he suffered a watershed stroke as a result of an aortic aneurism dissection. It was a close call for him, but he is doing much better now. He is slowly regaining his motor function, but currently has limited use of his fingers/hands after 8 months of outpatient rehabilitation. As a result, he is currently out of work and is unsure of what the future holds for him.
One of his daily struggles is chronic back pain. Back spasms most times keep him from lying in a flat position. The spasms also prevent him from walking any distances, but he needs to overcome this somehow to get his exercise. Exercise is a big part of his long term recovery, but he is at a roadblock. His chronic back pain would be greatly reduced with the benefit of a back stimulator, an automatic/adjustable bed as well as continued rehabilitation to progress. Unfortunately with his current lack of income, the out-of-pocket costs associated with this, as well as other medical expenses are beyond his grasp financially. Our ultimate goal is for David to at least be provided with relief from these costs by raising as close to $10,000 as possible.
David is one of the most kind-hearted, warm and positive-minded person you could ever meet. He is always ready to be there for anyone and is loved by many. In spite of this incredibly tragic experience and situation he finds himself in, he is determined to recover.
