Go fund me for  “Big Daddy Dave”

2020 Sucks.  We all know it. But for some it REALLY sucks!  For example, the Justice family has really been through it this year.  Their youngest daughter was a witness to a crime, a close friend of the family committed suicide, Deb lost her mom unexpectedly, and now Dave has inoperable cancer that is affecting them financially. If you don’t recall this family by name, maybe the following will spur some memories of interactions you may have had…

Dave Justice is a christian man, husband and daddy of three daughters and one son.  You may know him as “Big Daddy Dave” from Hawg Dawgs or La Contenta Golf Course.  You may have encountered him at the Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church serving at the food pantry, men's ministry; youth ministry; cooking for the rotary club or as the best pancake flipper at the Pancake Breakfast Ministry. He is a husband, father, chef, carpenter and is leading a life in service to our Lord. His wife Deb has served alongside him at the Pancake Breakfast and Food Pantry as well as Good Sam’s youth group and is Good Sam’s Children’s Ministry leader.  She can also be found at Hotel Leger doing whatever needs to be done. You rarely find Deb not investing in others.

In July, 2020, while attending a youth shooting event with his 13 year old son, Gerald, Dave noticed a severe pain in his abdomen.  Thinking it was a hernia or gallbladder issue, he called his wife Deb asking her to meet him in the hospital parking lot.   A large mass was discovered and removed with the indication that “It was encapsulated and we got it all.” However, further testing revealed that Cancer had traveled to his lungs and is now INOPERABLE. This wonderful man is facing heavy chemo for the rest of his life. The chemo is painful and has some side effects that will make it difficult for him to work and provide for his family.  His wife currently works 3 jobs to help make ends meet but it is not enough. THE FAMILY NEEDS HELP WITH LARGE MEDICAL BILLS AND HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

If this has tugged at your heart, we ask 3 things:

#1 SHARE - to be most effective this has got to reach people

#2 PRAY - really this is number 1 - but if it’s shared then more people will be praying!

#3 DONATE - let’s relieve the burden of financial worries so they can focus on wellness and healing. If you’re not able, PLEASE gift the Justice’s by acting on #1 and #2

We ask you to join hands, heart, and prayers with us in this season of lifting up Dave for a clear and proper diagnosis; the most effective and least invasive treatment, and asking Jesus to walk alongside him and his family.

                                                                             Thank You
