David Buchan’s Retirement Gift

Hello, I’m Tracy. When I heard that David Buchan was planning to retire this December I have to admit I thought, ‘oh right, that old chesnut’ but I have had it on good authority that it is indeed true! Having spoken to a few people in our local Portmoak community we felt it would be a fitting gesture to organise a collection for David to wish him well in his retirement and to complement the beautiful memory book that is planned. We plan to put any money collected towards a gift for David. We know that he would like a barometer.

It has never been lost on me that David and Ishbel had been hoping to retire in 2020 but life had other plans. They carried on in the shop, serving the community and really being a lifeline to local people during lockdown. I haven’t lived here long myself but I know that everyone can recall stories like this going back the years. If you would like to donate a monetary gift please do and leave a message if you can.
