David Cheng for Board of Governors

My name is David Cheng, Esq. I am running for a seat on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia. My platform is to advocate for attorney mental health. Approximately 21% of lawyers have a drinking problem, according to a 2016 study conducted by the American Bar Association. According to the same study, approximately 28% of lawyers struggle with depression. As a member of the Board of Governors, I will be proactive and initiate programs to address this crisis. This includes marketing existing mental health services and leveraging technology to expand access. No lawyer should be prevented from seeking help due to stigma or financial constraints.
