David & Denae Wood

“How do you say goodbye to your most favorite human in the whole world? David Wood has been my husband, life partner, best friend, lover and teacher for over 30 yrs. He is one of the kindest and most honest people I have ever known. He loves me! He actually adores me! Who could ask for more? The end of this life is near and we have truly been blessed to have grown old together. However, we’ve never felt old. Thank God!! David survived Cancer 15 yrs ago. Quite a miracle it was! We are grateful. In July this year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer that has metastasized to his liver. Please hold us close in your thoughts and prayers this Christmas. Enjoy your holidays. We will! We have each other and all is well with our souls.”

days ago, sharing with all of us their beautiful end-of-life journey— a love story that will soon have a sweet and peaceful earthly conclusion. David has courageously battled this cancer but he will be leaving us very soon. Denae and David have spent a lifetime caring for others and giving of themselves so God’s unconditional love would be overwhelmingly known. Many of us have had the honor of walking or working (or both!) alongside these two— witnessing and receiving their amazing gifts. David will be deeply missed. 

As Denae prepares to say goodbye to her love and step into this next season, financial burdens are inevitably present. We, as her family and friends, would like to collectively help ease that burden.
