David Dove Entertainer Bus Driver
Donation protected
This go fund me is to help David Dove,
Born and raised in West Virginia “Go Mountaineers” Dave came to Nashville in the early 80s to attend Nashville Auto Diesel College after graduating he began working and driving for one of the largest tow companies around, he began hauling in buses and trucks from breakdowns wrecks all the state. After continually hauling in and working on Jerry Reeds tour bus Jerry finally said “you know, you ought to be driving my bus and you can work on it all the time “and so he transitioned from driving tow trucks to driving entertainer coaches and began driving for Jerry Reed.
After those years, He then worked at
Nitetrain Coach, Four Seasons Coach, Roberts Brothers Coach and in 2020 returned to Nite Train Coach.
Affectionately known as “DD “or as David Gray calls him “The Dove from above”, A veteran of the Nashville entertainer coach drivers industry for the last 35 years he has driven 100s bands and crews from venue to venue all across the United States many of the bands and crews you know and love
Bands and artists like : Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, The Dead, Lyle Lovett, Steve Wariner, Widespread Panic, most recently, Twiddle, Goose and The CulT and many others
On a recent tour this July he lifted his shore cord box and felt three pops, thinking it was just a pulled muscle he kept working but the pain got worse and worse over at the end of the tour he sought medical attention for the back pain but after a month and 4 different places no one found the culprit which was a actually a compression fracture in his vertebrae on the spine pressing on the spinal cord making him temporarily paralyzed, to make matters worse during the spine surgery the Doctors discovered cancerous tumors
Dave has metastasized stage 4 cancer
we are hoping to raise funds for necessary living expenses ( no current income ) and for medical equipment and cancer treatment needs. Over the course of Dave‘s career anytime that any friend or fellow bus driver was in need for any life crisis he was one of the first to reach into his pocket and pull out a days pay to help him out we are hoping that many of those fellow friends, and bus drivers, artists, bands, crews, friends and family and perfect strangers will do the same for him now at this time of need. Gift cards and Prayers also appreciated.
Thank you
