David "Duke" Davis

Hello everyone,

As many of you know my father David, Dave, Duke was an amazing and devoted Father and Friend to everyone around him. These last couple of months, we have had to admit my father to Wesley hospital due to a large mass growing on the left side of his throat, internally. After a week in the hospital and needed CT scans, x-rays and pain care they were able to come to the conclusion and diagnose him with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma (throat cancer). This moment and discovery was very difficult to grasp and understand how we didn't notice the signs or symptoms sooner.

On Friday morning, September 15, 2023 I had to make the decision to rush my father to the hospital by ambulance due to his rapid decline overnight. Within 4 hours and heavy dosages of morphine and relaxers, my dad was able to get some rest without pain. Within another 3 hours my father had again rapidly declined. By Friday evening my amazing father joined his beautiful mother on the other side.

These unfortunate events have left my mother and I with many medical bills, funeral expenses and home living bills; such as rent and groceries, as my farther was no longer able to work and did not continue insurance outside of such. It would be of great help and assistance to my mother in this time as we adjust to a 2 income household and me becoming a student and not working as many hours.
