David James Manser Family Fund
Donation protected
On January 11, 2017, tragedy struck the Manser Family of rural downstate Illinois. David Manser, the husband of Olivia (married 31 years) and father of their 12 children, passed away just 5 short weeks after he fell unexpectedly ill.
David was a healthy man, and after serving in the United States Marine Corps, he maintained a strict exercise regimen which included frequently taking his kids for walks with him.
On December 3rd, David went out on his daily walk and began to feel strange, so he returned home quickly. After arriving at the nearest local hospital, the doctor decided to airlift David to the St. Louis University Hospital, which was 70 miles away. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. After briefly returning home for Christmas on oxygen support, he was readmitted to St. Louis University Hospital on December 27, since he could no longer breathe on his own at all.
Further tests revealed a mass on one of his lungs. He was not well enough to handle surgery to attempt to remove the mass, it would risk his life if they were to operate on him. His health continued to decline and on January 11, he passed away with his wife, children and newborn grandchild bedside.
David was a loving and devoted husband and father who loved sports, music, reading, good food and hanging out with his family. Olivia is grief-stricken from losing her best friend and partner and is now a widowed mother of 12, 6 of which are under 18 and still living at home. One of their children struggles with epileptic seizures.
Without David to help support his family, Olivia is left with funeral and daily expenses. We ask that you please consider helping this loving family by donating any amount you are able to. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
