David McMillan's SpaceX Flight
Donation protected
In July 2017, our beloved David Lloyd "Phrenzy" McMillan passed away at the age of 30.
During his life he always dreamed of going into space, and had been planning to take a high-altitude flight to see it for himself.
We have the opportunity to make his dream come true by sending some of his ashes into orbit aboard a SpaceX rocket, the launch date of which has yet to be announced.
They'll be placed into a metal capsule engraved with a message of his family's choosing, and launched into space.
The capsule will orbit Earth for two years, during which time you'll be able to track its position with a mobile app, and use a telescope to spot it.
After two years the capsule will re-enter Earth's orbit and burn up, appearing as a shooting-star in the sky.
We can think of no more fitting a tribute for such a bright light in our lives that burned out far too soon.
This page is managed by David's mother, Penelope. All donations will be received by his sister, Laura.
