David Paine Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Fund

Many of you know David Paine as an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. He has led an incredibly active life in his 23 years- running tough mudders, snowboarding, hiking the Appalachian Trail and most recently completing his Bachelor’s in Information Management Systems from Maryville College in May. Unfortunately, David had a tragic accident on June 11th, suffering a traumatic spinal cord injury, shattering his C5 vertebrae. He underwent immediate major surgery and has been recovering at a rehabilitation facility.

David lives by two mottos: “Do or do not- there is no try” and “Carpe Diem”. He has been working tirelessly to recover the use of his fingers, arms and legs and is making progress daily. He is eager to continue his progress and exceed everyone’s hopes for his recovery.

David will soon return home and continue daily outpatient rehabilitation. We are raising funds to assist with expenses insurance does not cover to help David in his recovery. 100 percent of donations will go toward David’s short term and long care and needs as he recovers and leaves inpatient rehabilitation and any amount is greatly appreciated. Short and long term expenses include immediate necessary improvements and modifications to Lori (his mother) and Rick’s house while David recovers, medical expenses and future transportation needs.

David has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and encouragement from so many people and his entire family is grateful to each and every one of you. We are confident in David’s ability to overcome adversity and know that your thoughts, prayers, and support are driving him every single day.
