David Reisinger memorial project
The members of the River Grove Fire Department are starting a fundraising campaign to create a memorial to honor the memory of David Reisinger who sacrificed his life in the line of duty on April 29, 2020. For over 30 years David was a well respected member of the fire service and EMS community. David worked as the EMS coordinator at Cook County Hospital where he touched many lives through education, mentoring, and patient care. David joined the River Grove Fire Department in 2002 and we have been honored to call him our brother ever since. During the recent pandemic David continued to selflessly serve the residents of River Grove at which time he contracted Covid-19. Sadly, shortly thereafter, David lost his battle with the virus.
Recognizing David's ultimate sacrifice, the members of the River Grove Fire Department would like to honor David's memory with a bronze statue of his firefighting gear and helmet which will proudly be displayed in front of the River Grove firehouse.
We have commissioned a local artist who has created similar memorials throughout the State of IL.
We humbly ask for your support in our endeavor to create a lasting monument to honor David's lifelong dedication of service.
