Please help us lay David Mayo to rest.

David passed away on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 from Pancreatic Cancer. He was only 50 years old. David was a wonderful father of 5, a loving grandfather of 4, a compassionate and devoted husband, and a trusted friend. There are so many words and yet not enough to convey the heartfelt sorrow of the family.

Your help is needed so he may be layed to rest. David will be buried at Life Forest in Hillsboro, NH and a Dogwood tree will be planted above him. He loved this idea thinking that the grandchildren will grow up watching his tree grow, hoping it would help them to accept loss and to remember him.

David was a brave and valiant warrior who faced each of his tough battles head on. He never gave up; not when he became legally blind in 2018 and not when he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2021. More than anything, he wanted to live and he had a good chance. Afterall, the Cancer was found in stage 1 which is considered a rare discovery and the outlook was positive. David’s journey was fraught with so many obstacles to overcome. His chemotherapy medications gave him a fighting chance but so many obstacles…

Three different chemo medication cocktails, anaphylaxis, chemo medication toxicity which caused a rare blood anemia called aHUS, radiation failing to help, and a surgery to remove the cancer that was stopped when they found it had metastasized. He went into surgery in stage 1 and came out in stage 4 only to be told he had 6 months to a year.

David said he was going to beat 12 months and he did, by 6 days.

Anything you can do to help would be truly appreciated. Unfortunately, living on a fixed income doesn't allow for extra funds for David's burial. Every penny counts and sharing this page helps too. Thank you!
