Hi, my name is Pete and I’m David’s Producer, raising funds to help complete David Soul’s final film, to fulfill his dream, and to honor his memory.

CUBAN SOUL is a 90-minute feature documentary starring DAVID SOUL set in Cuba, America, and England. Our film follows David’s remarkable journey as he attempts to restore Ernest Hemingway’s 1955 Chrysler New Yorker for the Hemingway Museum, the Finca Vigía, Havana. The documentary is 75% complete, but David sadly left us before we could finish it.

Our story is much more than a petrolhead restoration project. It’s about David’s passion for Cuba and its people, Ernest Hemingway, and of course gives an insight into the man himself, David Soul. Exclusive, never-before-seen footage of David poignantly punctuates David’s undeterred determination to see this through. Please help us realize the dream for him.

We have more than 120 hours of film recorded over a ten-year period. It’s taken this long because of bureaucracy, a Global pandemic, and David’s health, but we only need one final push to complete it and distribute worldwide.

Funds raised here will be used for further filming in Cuba, USA, and UK—with interviews, archive footage, original music, editing, and other elements of post production required to finish our film.

In the days we’ve been running out campaign, several people have asked ‘what happens if we don’t hit our target’. The answer is that all monies raised will go to the production so even £50,000 will allow us to substantially complete filming or other key components. A documentary is a moveable feast (appropriately Hemingway) and we can adjust production to fit with funding. Our target is the top end but it all helps. We are also exploring other sources of funds such as commissioning, grants etc but the climate is very difficult at the moment

We are asking David’s loyal fans worldwide to help us reach the target amount by donating the price of a glass of wine or a couple of coffees to raise what we need to complete this perfect and historical tribute to David Soul.
