David Strange: Supporting the Strange Family

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

This is a plea for any help you can give. Our dear friend David Strange’s life is going to be cut short by a sudden and relentless battle with bowel cancer, a battle that has so far only lasted three short months from the moment of diagnosis.

First showing very mild symptoms at the beginning of August, David who turned 50 in July this year, was admitted to hospital with a bowel perforation.

Expecting a diagnosis of diverticulitis, David was discharged from hospital and told to wait for the perforation to heal before further tests could confirm the diagnosis.

In September, David was readmitted to hospital in severe pain and was given a biopsy. Devastatingly the results were that David had stage 4 bowel cancer.

After a short stay in hospital he was sent home to wait to see an oncologist. At the end of September David returned to hospital in more pain and severe swelling, the surgeons decided to perform a laparoscopy and after the surgery David and his family were told that the cancer had spread too far and too quickly. Unfortunately there were no surgical options and chemotherapy was a huge risk that could not happen either.

This meant that everything had progressed so rapidly that the only option for David was to start receiving palliative care, David is currently in Salisbury hospice. He is not eating or drinking and the IV fluids were stopped on Friday.

David's departure will leave an immense void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is a man of unwavering strength, boundless love, and profound dedication to his family. David's final wish is to ensure the security and well-being of his wife and two boys, as they navigate a world without his guidance.

As friends, we have the opportunity to come together and make a real difference in the lives of the Strange family during this incredibly challenging time. We understand that the emotional burden they bear is immeasurable, and we want to ease the financial burdens that often accompany such devastating loss.

The funds we raise will go directly to support the Strange family in meeting their immediate and future needs. These funds will help cover funeral costs and provide essential financial stability to the family at this time.

Please consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign and sharing it with your friends and family. Together, we can help the Strange family find strength, security, and hope as they navigate the difficult road ahead. Your kindness and generosity will make a world of difference in their lives.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Strange Family, their friends and the Supportive Community
