David "The Schwan's Man" Barnes

With heavy heart my dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer that had moved to his brain on Father's day June 18, 2023, dad fought a hard fight, this silent killer did not give much warning of it's presence. Dad went through many hospital visits, radiation, chemotherapy, and only one dose of immunotherapy before he lost strength and became not a candidate for continued radiation therapy.

My dad touched many lives, he watched babies grow up into adults and have kids of their own. Dad was a prankster and joker, he loved to laugh and have fun, but he knew how to sell the product with honesty and knowledge of what the customers needed. One time on family route day with him he told people that I needed a new pair of shoes for school that I had holes in mine. Many of his customers helped him during contests, boss ride days, and many other times. Dad loved his customers. I read through tears the comments everyone posted to all the updates on his account.

When dad lost his position at Schwan's he lost his cancer insurance and life insurance.

Dad was the only one working after Mom got hurt at work. We are faced with his funeral costs, I want to give him the funeral just as he deserves. I love my dad, I never dreamed I would be losing him this early in life.
