David Tran Memorial & Tributes

Hello, my name is Lisa. I am raising funds for my best friend Susan and her four young children.
On November 10th 2020, David Tran left for work in his family’s butcher shop in Berala, NSW. Little did his wife Susan and their four young children know, he would never come back home.
David was a funny man. He was handsome. He was caring and generous. He was the cook at most barbecues. He was the guy telling bad jokes. He had an unforgettable, infectious laugh. Even if you were having a bad day, David would cheer you up, he had that reassuring, calming presence. Everyone enjoyed spending time with him whether it was at a family gathering, or a few minutes over the counter at the butcher shop.
No one misses him more so than his family.
David was a dedicated family man. Kids flocked to him because he was full of energy. He would arrive home from work, exhausted, but never too tired to play with his kids. The house would erupt with joy and excitement when Daddy arrived home and the kids would all fight for his attention, which he managed to share evenly among them all. He would speak about his children with such pride. He loved to see his wife Susan smile and would tell the worst dad-jokes to achieve his goal. Susan would roll her eyes and feign disapproval, but we all got a kick out of his terrible jokes.
On the day that David passed away, he woke in the morning, got dressed and said goodbye to his family. He worked tirelessly in his family butcher shop. He never took time off and was determined and dedicated to providing a good future for his family. So, at close of business for the day, when David had pains in his chest, he brushed it off as nothing major and kept working. It was the end of the day and the routine pack up and cleaning and sanitising had to be done. David’s Mum was there and what happened next will forever haunt her. David was having a heart attack. He had no idea until it was too late. By the time paramedics arrived David was gone and although they worked so hard to bring him back, the damage sustained was too great, and David would never get to see his family, wife or children again.
Susan rushed to the butcher shop to find her husband lifeless. He was gone. Her world crumbled around her. David’s family stood still in the shop, broken by the loss of their son, brother, husband and friend.
The familys suspicions were confirmed in the coroners report. David had passed away from a fatal heart attack.
Susan has been an inspiration through it all. She hurts, she grieves, she is lost at times and scared of what the future holds. So many milestones that she will now watch alone. Yet somehow, Susan has remained focussed on parenting their children while juggling work, parenting, homeschooling, comforting the children and dealing with her own grief all at the same time.
David now rests at Rookwood cemetery, but he will be forever in our hearts. His family and friends miss him dearly. Susan and their children visit his grave often. Fathers Day has just passed and they are all still hurting so very, very much. Everything is still so raw and painful.
it is almost the first anniversary of David’s passing. I am hoping to raise enough funds for Susan to enable her to take a much needed break from work for a couple of weeks, so she can get some renewed energy and have a little less financial burden on her shoulders.
I realise that we are in such a strange world right now with covid forcing many to be unemployed or struggling financially. Please do not contribute financially if you are struggling already - please share this with your contacts so that someone else may contribute to this gorgeous, deserving family, if they can. 100% of the money raised (minus the go fund me fees) will go directly to the family and I will update this page as necessary.
Thank you for reading and for any contributions made. You really are making a significant difference to this grieving family.
