David 'TRex' Ferguson Needs to Update His Tech

Hello, friends, I'm David Ferguson and this isn't my normal type of fund-raiser. I prefer to raise funds for people who need medical help or, like, a life-saving portable generator like the one we got for my in-laws as they survived the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

However, all of these things I do -- including Astral Summer's music, podcasting, writing, composing, and political communicating -- are done on my laptop.

In recent weeks, my six-year-old MacBook Air has had a couple of wobbles. A service tech said it would be a good time to replace it, which is never cheap or easy with Apple machines, especially if you need a laptop capable of high-quality video and audio editing like me.

Thanks to some donated funds and a (very) small amount of savings, we are very close to being able to afford my dream machine, a Midnight MacBook Air M2 with 16GB of RAM . Another $700 should put us within striking distance as well as being able to purchase Apple Care and a laptop case.

I understand that this funder might seem frivolous to some people, but my laptop is the center of my creative life these days. To have it suddenly acting unstable is unnerving and makes it hard to dig into new projects with any earnestness and confidence.

Please help if you can. I'm not making this request in between sipping champagne and nibbling bonbons during my life of leisure. I work very hard at my current bakery job and on music and podcasting, but I still come up short and needing some help sometimes.
