David Wells Jr Funeral Fund

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Chloe. My mum (Sandie Wells) and I are supporting our close family Jackie and David Wells during this time of bereavement as we mourn our beloved Little David.

David, devastatingly passed away on Saturday 8th July 2023 at only 45 years young, while surrounded by his parents, siblings, and other family members at Basingstoke Hospital.

While David grew up with a large and loving family, he often struggled with mental health and depression which at times could make him feel isolated and alone. David grew up in Bordon and had a wealth of friends in the surrounding areas and most recently had been living in Alton. David has two daughters who he loved irrevocably and was making plans to take them on a daddy-daughter(s) camping trip over the summer.

Recently, David had been going through a rough patch, due to limited work available, the current cost of living crisis, his ongoing struggles with mental health and the lack of support and understanding out there for young men who are struggling. Because of this, we are hoping our large and loving family, friends and community will join us in supporting Jackie, David and their family in raising funds to give Little David the sendoff he deserves. In addition to this we hope to raise awareness of the very current issue surrounding mental health in men, the lack of support for young men struggling and the fact that society's expectations and traditional gender roles play a role in why men are less likely to discuss or seek help for their mental health struggles.
