On October 11th, 2016, David Childress passed away in a Chicagoland hospital, surrounded by his loving family. David's passing has been felt all over the Boone Grove and Kouts' communities, and has left family, friends, and fellow teammates mourning the loss of an incredible person.
David was an avid sportsman, loving all things hunting, fishing, and especially football. To those who knew him well, football was David's outlet; something he had true passion and talent for. When he wasn't at practice or weight-lifting with the team, David could be found picking a guitar or spending his free-time outdoors with family and friends.
In light of this tragedy, I ask that we remember David for all of the goodness he brought to so many lives. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and was loving and compassionate beyond measure. David was also great for a good laugh, something he was able to do easily with his awnry humor and love of practical jokes.
As a close friend of the Childress/Doherty household for many years, I am creating this account in the hopes of alleviating the financial stress that accompanies an unexpected loss. Any donation is appreciated more than can be expressed, and will help a wonderful family through an extremely difficult time. All donations will be made available to David's mother, Holly Doherty.
