15th David Holmes Charity Cricket Cup 2024 - RNOH and GOSH

The David Holmes Charity Cricket Cup began in the Summer of 2009, where two Teams, Gryffindor and Slytherin, battle it out for the trophy. The score currently stands at 7 wins each, so this year is sure to be an exciting match!

In August we will be celebrating our 15th David Holmes Cricket Cup and will be Live Streaming our Charity Match for everyone to enjoy.

  • Date: Monday 26th August 2024
  • Match Start Time: Approximately 12:30pm (UK Time)

The David Holmes Charity Cricket Cup is a private event, so please don’t just turn up on the day, you will be turned away by security, so if you would like to watch, please do so using the Live Streaming Link (details to follow).
The Live Streaming Link will be absolutely FREE, but we would greatly appreciate any donations, only give what you can afford, every penny helps, thank you. This year we will be splitting all the money raised at our David Holmes Charity Cricket Cup between the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), two amazing charities.

David Holmes and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH):
David Holmes began his Stunt Career when he was just 14 years old and qualified for the Stunt Register when he was 22. Then in January 2009, David was left paralysed after an accident on set whilst rehearsing a stunt. After his accident he was based in the Stanmore Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where the staff took great care of him and in April 2013, David had the honour of becoming an Appeal Ambassador for the RNOH Appeal.

“Spinal Cord Injury paralyses someone every 4 hours”. The money donated to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) will go towards The Spinal Cord Injury Centre, dedicated to comprehensive rehabilitation for people who experienced life changing spinal cord injuries. The Centre needs funds for its out-dated Day room to create a space that enhances the wellbeing of patients, promotes community and elevates morale during recovery.

Tom Felton and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH):
Tom played in the first David Holmes Cricket in 2009, as Slytherin Captain, since then he has supported our Charity Cricket Cup and this year he will play in his 7th match as a member of Team Slytherin!

Tom Felton has been a committed and enthusiastic supporter of Great Ormond Street Hospital charity since 2015 and has helped us including multiple visits to GOSH, thank you videos for patients, being the face of our Emergency Appeal in 2020 and Omaze campaign this year. In 2024, he also opened the new refurbished Mildred Creak Unit.

At the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, they help give seriously ill children the best chance, and the best childhoods, possible. Because they believe no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

Your money will go towards funding ground-breaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment, and the building and refurbishment of child-centred facilities.
