I am David Kerr age 16. I live in the small town of La Pine Oregon. I have been wrestling since I was 5 yrs old. Through the years, I have wrestled for mat club, middle school and now high school. I have had my ups and downs during these years like any wrestler. Last year, my freshman year my biggest struggle was my size. I did not even qualify at our high school disctrict tournament to go to the state tournament. I did go on to wrestle freestyle/Greco last year and was able to secure a spot on the state team to travel to Fargo. I was one match away from becoming an All American. It was at this devistating point that I met Cael Sanderson...my biggest hero. He talked with me and gave me some good advise, "It doesn't matter how many coaches you have in your corner, they can't wrestle for you." From this time forward, I have pushed myself to be better than I was. This year I have had a perfect season 55-0. I became the second State Wrestling Champion in the history of my high school. 26 years ago, my dad was the first State Champion. I wrestled at the Cultural Exchange Tournament this past weekend to compete with all those who would want to represent our country wrestling in South Africa. I secured the 106 lb spot on the team. I am one of 5 children in my family and all of us wrestle. Me and my family are asking for your support in assisting me to get to South Africa. I believe that I will represent our counrty with pride and honor.<iframe media_type="0" media_id="ri3Y7x_FKuw" class="youtube-replace" title="YouTube video player" style="margin-bottom:20px;width:560px;height:315px;" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ri3Y7x_FKuw/?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"></iframe>
