EQFD Fire Chief Fights Colon Cancer
Donation protected
David Kohler has spent most of his life helping others. He is a 10 year volunteer member of the East Quogue Fire Department, as both a firefighter and an EMT, and he is also the current 1st Assistant Chief. He works as a driver for a sanitation company and he is always ready to help however he can. Volunteering is what he does best.
Now he needs your help!! A week before his 38th birthday on August 5th, 2015....he got the dreaded diagnosis of Colon Cancer. Newly married, a new homeowner, and hoping to start a family with his wife Jennifer......this is not news that they hoped for.
But David is a fighter!! Surgery is scheduled at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital to remove a section of his Colon, which will take place on September 3rd. After surgery, the doctors will be able to further biopsy the tumor and make the decision of whether he needs chemo and radiation.
He will be out of work for an extended period of time...and no work means no paycheck to help support his family.
Please consider donating to help him during this time of need. Any donation, big or small, can help keep this couple afloat during his surgery and recovery.
Keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming! Thank you in advance!
