We are raising money for a dear friend who is very close to our hearts. David is always the first person to jump up to help people, so I am hoping that people will jump to help him. He touches many lives every day in his job in Oak Ridge as an animal control officer. David and his wife Barbara (still basically newlyweds) are in the process of building their house. After losing his father just days before his wedding last year, David has made it thru a tough year with one tragic event after another in their family. Thanksgiving day was spent working on the house nailing deadwood so they could stay on schedule for the drywall crew next week. David experienced a freak accident with the nail gun, where a ricocheted nail and debris grazed his eye leaving behind a large gash and damage to his eye. They were unable to save it in surgery and now this new couple is faced with the loss of his eye. Even though he has insurance, the costs of something like this are immense. The medical side is only part of what lies ahead. He will recover and will learn again how to live without one of his eyes. He will be able to this with the help and support of his family, loved ones and friends. I want to raise as much money as we can for him to help with the non medical expenses that something like this brings. Not only are they half way thru their house build, but it will be weeks or longer before he is able to go back to work. Please, help us relieve some of the financial stress so he can focus on healing and starting over instead of worrying about daily expenses
