David Needs A Cochlear Implant

Donation protected

More and more people are getting cochlear implants in both ears. Bilateral implants allow users to better determine where sounds are coming from (localize) and to hear better in noisy situations (in restaurants, at professional conferences, at school). Users report better sound awareness and richer hearing with three-dimensional quality.

By contributing to this campaign listed below, you'll help ensure that my work continues. Online donations are quick and easy using our secure credit card transactions. We welcome donations of all sizes and payment plans – whether it's a one-time gift, a monthly contribution.

If you're  deaf, a cochlear implant may help you get back the sounds you miss out on.

It isn't a hearing aid, which makes sounds louder. It’s a small device that a doctor puts in your ear through surgery. It sends impulses directly to your auditory nerve, which carries sound signals to your brain.

The cochlear implant doesn't make you hear normally again, but it can help you with sounds. Most people with severe to profound hearing loss can understand speech in person or over the phone better than they did with a hearing aid. It can usually help you know sounds around you, including telephones, doorbells, and alarms. Many people also can pick up on speech in noisy places better than they did with hearing aids, or even enjoy music again.

You can help Me get a cochlear implant which cost $60,000 plus (up to $100,000 via post op and rehab).

Your support is key in solving this problem, as my insurance will not cover the surgery or a new device for my left ear.
