Seeding Success - Farm, housing and jobs project
Tax deductible
2020 has shown us the frailty of our economic system, millions of people impacted by Covid-19 questioning if they will have safe and secure housing in the coming months, as well as reliable food security and income sources to survive, this has devastated families, individuals and communities across San Diego. We have reached a critical point where we must come together and help those who are suffering due to domestic violence, depression, loneliness, addiction and homelessness before they become another statistic in a city already overwhelmed with countless cases.
Duwara Consciousness Foundation (DCF) has found a property that is 29 acres with all the facilities (domestic & agricultural with water & electric meters on site) to create a beautiful working space for anyone who is ready to make the transition to a more successful and sustainable life.
In short - helping those who are at the stage of wanting to help themselves. We believe we can put a minimum of 75 homes on this property.
With the food and shower trailer program out daily, we have built a solid relationship with the guests we serve and community members/organizations that also help such as:
National Alliance on Mental Illness www.namisandiego.com
Fill-a-belly (Carlsbad & Encinitas)
O'side Kitchen Collaborative www.theokc.org
Voices of Our City Choir www.voicesofourcity.org
Sharia's Closet www.shariascloset.org
With such a wide range of allies, DCF will be able to accommodate all walks of life on these facilities.
As well as freshly cooked plant based food (breakfast lunch & dinner), individuals will work with case workers, physicians, mental health, addiction coaches in all professional fields. This will be done on a voluntary basis.
How is rent paid?
Whoever participates in this program & lives in one of the tiny homes, will work on the facilities for 20 hours per week. This will offset the rent due for food, community & board.
This community of unity will not only help those suffering during this trying time, but it will also help the environment as the facilities and structures will be self sustaining and will leave zero footprint on the environment, the food cooked will be completely plant based. This will not only help all animals in question but will introduce much needed fruits, vegetables and salads into the clients diet (detox is always a good thing:).
All clients will be part of the farming program. This will include an avocado & citrus orchard as well as a vegetable farm that will be a for-profit entirety under the umbrella of the non-profit organization. The clients will be the management and staff of the operation and all profits will be divided with those who helped make the farms profitable.
Getting our hands into the earth and dirt will become soothing and doing it with a community with the same common goal will be truly inspiring & upliftings.
100% of your donation (minus Gofundme fees) will go to helping those in need.
The intension is to be 100% volunteer based.
All for-profit corps will invest back into the community!
Thank you for your love and commitment to this much needed project
