Davion Laron Linear

Hi! My name is Renee Varner. I am creating this fundraiser for the most caring and wonderful person I know, Derrick McMillian.

Derrick is the Cafe operator at a building in Sandy Springs I manage. He is the light of our building as well as his friends and family.

Derrick’s son Davion tragically lost his life at the very young age of 18 years old on March 24, 2024.

Derrick was so proud of Davion! He graduated a year early in 2023 from Daniel McLaughlin Therrell High School and was registered to start school at Georgia State University in the fall of 2024. In the meantime, he was an intern at the Atlanta Airport.

Davion gave his dad many reasons to be proud of him. He was a great kid with a wonderful heart! One of Derrick's most proud moments was Davion's baptism at Bethlehem Baptist Church in October of 2023.

Davion had a smile (just like his dad) that would brighten up any room he walked in to and had a very genuine heart, ready to help anyone, anytime.

Derrick describes Davion as a wonderful spirit who will be missed by all who knew him.
