First and foremost, I want to give thanks to God. I appreciate the outpouring of well wishes, love, concerns and prayers received over the past few days for my family. My country, the Bahamas has experienced one of the worse hurricanes in its history. Hurricane Dorian has left in its mist, devastation upon the entire country. During the hurricane my family was able to escape to a local church for survival. Because of this the last few days have been the most difficult days of my life and extremely overwhelming. During the hurricane, my family lost everything. Today, their spirits are lifted and they’re grateful for life.
Many of you have contacted me asking how you can help my family directly.
To those who are offering assistance: This GoFundMe page has been set up with 100% of the proceeds going “DIRECTLY TO MY SISTERS AND OUR FAMILY HOUSEHOLD OF 8 IN GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS”. The funds will be withdrawn from this GoFundMe, and will be used to purchase their medications, and basic necessities.
Recovery will be slow and long. WE WILL OVERCOME. WE WILL REBUILD. WE WILL BOUNCE BACK AS A BETTER & STRONGER BAHAMAS.
Basic Supplies:
Generators, clothes, fuel, non-perishable food items, water, personal hygiene products (deodorant, soap (antibacterial), lotion, feminine pads, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, toilet tissue, wet wipes), baby supplies (wipes, diapers, desitin, power), pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, air mattresses, duct tape, extension cords, box fans, batteries, flashlights, cleaning supplies, first aid kits (alcohol pads, bandaids, neosporin, etc), tools, garbage bags, house/roof materials, etc.
