Dawit Y. Bekele

Greetings,

I'm Kaleb Gebremariam. Our family has experienced the heartbreaking loss of Dawit Bekele, a 23-year-old with dreams that started in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Dawit, who migrated to Albany, New York, for education at Hoosac School, became an integral part of our lives in Chicago after graduating. He was like a son to my wife, Bibi, and me, and a brother to our boys, Matthew and Nathan.

For the past 3 years, Dawit bravely faced the challenges of cancer treatment, but sadly, he has been called home by God.

Now, we are seeking support for funeral expenses and the transportation of his remains to Ethiopia, where his family resides.

Dawit's journey was cut short, and we want to honor his life in a meaningful way.
