Dawn Fix Her Home

Hi,

My name is Danielle. I created this Fundraiser for one of the most beautiful and kind hearted women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Dawn is a two-time cancer survivor, a wonderful mother and a fantastic mentor. She has worked hard her entire life and she brings joy and kindness into the lives of everyone she meets and now I believe that she deserves a break. Her home was ruined during the freeze in 2021. Pipes burst sending water crashing through her ceilings and destroying much of her home. She lives in a small home in Third-Ward, and after many failed attempts to get a reliable contractor to take on the job she finally found one. This contractor took $12,000 of her hard-earned savings and took off without ever completing the job. Her home is in such poor condition that she has not been able to live in it. She has been staying at her daughter's home in Spring. Dawn currently wakes up at 4:00am to get to her job in downtown by 6am, where she is overworked and underpaid, doing the job of 3 people. Dawn leaves her job around 7pm every evening and drives an hour to her daughter's home alone. On top of everything, the company may close within the next year and Dawn's savings is exhausted now due to her situation. This means that Dawn cannot retire. She will have to find a new job and continue working to rebuild all her savings just to retire. I would love to raise enough money to fix Dawn's home and help her retire the way she deserves to after so many years of fighting, working and caring for others. I do not know if we will get there but I know that we can at least raise enough to help Dawn fix her home so that she can live in it again and finally have some relief. I have secured an insured, reliable and honest contractor who has agreed to complete all of the necessary repairs for a discounted rate.
