Dawn Hutchison has Lupus, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks her body’s immune system. She has developed a blood clotting disorder which has lead her to having four blood clots in her lungs over the past several years. In 2012 she was admitted into the Pittsburgh hospital for 8 days and had a blood clot filter surgically implanted into her leg to help break up clots. Following this, Lupus caused arthritis, her organs to inflame, vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation), skin rashes, chronic migraines and sleep apnea.
The most recent health issue has been the news of having Loeys Dietz Syndrome, a rare genetic mutation which causes aneurysms to appear on internal organs. This diagnosis lead her to having open heart surgery this October. Loeys Dietz Syndrome has also caused her to have a collapsed lung and asthma. Dawn spends a lot of time in and out of the hospital. She goes to the doctors several times per week and also has a monthly infusion.
Due to daily health concerns, Dawn is having trouble returning to work and paying expenses. Please consider donating. Thank you!
