Dawn Ritter Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Dawn and Mark Ritter are dear friends of ours and long time fosters of DCCR since the beginning. They would be the first to help anyone in need-foster another pup, make you dinner, gather items for the pups, be a sound board and a shoulder to cry on. They would give the shirts off their backs and help others even when they were struggling. Mark lost his wife January 27th, 2020...cause unknown yet. We would love to help raise money for funeral costs, food, and medical expenses as they had no insurance. Please give where you can. Let's show up as a community and help this couple who has helped us all so much!
Additional info about Dawn and Mark-Ambassadors of DCCR.
They started with DCCR in Feb 2016 (a friend fostered for them) and they saw a pregnant GSD that they wanted to rescue because her rancher owner wanted to shoot her. (Dawn loved German Shepherds and black Labs) so she woke Mark up and said can we??? He said yes. Dawn has been known to do that a lot. When she would see one that called to her she would just ask Rebecca. "Thank God she stays up late too lol" she said. They got "Lily" and then she delivered her 10 puppies, her 1st whelping experience, and they were hooked lol.
Mark is the spoiler and is always on the floor playing with them and he is always willing to run pens and kennels to where they need to be and set up canopies. Mark is the "guardian" of the foster dogs. Dawn was good at nurturing them and being home with them, teaching them, and talking people out of blankets and other stuff at garage sales or online for donations. She would make her foster pups bags of love to take to their new forever homes with them. They loved being able to help and have been rewarded with some of the adoptive families sharing pictures of their fosters over the years.
Dawn will truly be missed. Heaven gained a beautiful Angel. Mark our love and prayers go out to you and your family.
