Dawn Ritter’s Memorial
On January 16 our lives changed forever. An intoxicated driver took police on a high speed chase into town. He hit a truck in the intersection of 9th and B with so much force it flipped the truck immediately killing the occupant. The man ran never checking on the occupant who passed due to her injuries. Her name was Dawn. She was vivacious and loved dearly by family and friends. She had just overcome cancer. Her life was starting to turn around after losing her own Mother recently. She was a loving mother and grandmother. The family was focusing on what positive things 2021 could bring after how tough 2020 had been. It was tragically ripped away from them in an instant by a reckless driver with a long criminal past. Her life was mercilessly taken. She fought hard to beat cancer to be there for her daughters and to see her grandkids grow up. Now they have lost both matriarchs from their family in less than a year.
At this time our family is asking for any help we can get. We know the last year has been hard for everyone and appreciate every bit of support and all the shares. We are trying to get everything taken care of to pack up her home and get funeral and memorial arrangements made. This is not a small undertaking by any means. Unfortunately she did not have life insurance or anything else to help at this time. We are trying to work together to take care of everything in a timely manner. The funds will go to her daughters Sabrina and Emily who are handling everything.
We plan to see this through with the support of family and friends to make sure that there is justice for what happened. The man that hit her, Dominik Cash, was intoxicated. He has a history of reckless evasion of police. He’s on probation after committing a sex crime against a minor, theft and burglary. In one of his evasions he and his getaway driver hit a decorated military Veteran and left him permanently disabled. He has a long record of theft. This monster was slapped on the wrist and it enabled him to murder Dawn our loving mother, daughter, grandma, sister, best friend...
