Dawn Walsh Fire Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
As many of you have heard by now, the storm of Monday December 18, 2023 again brought gusting winds and high waters to the Outer Cape and Provincetown. As a result of a fire, started by a transformer spark, our dear friend Dawn Walsh's rented cottage home was completely destroyed.
While Dawn actively practices minimalism and a deep awareness of impermanence, she creates a full home wherever she goes and this cozy place was no exception. Filled with special art from friends, well-curated books collected over decades, clothes, tiny treasures, photos, and the ashes of 3 beloved cat companions/witnesses to life - all now gone - this cottage loft with a view was a happy perch indeed.
Dawn has also spent the last 4 years leading the vision to create the Lily House, where she serves as Executive Director. Lily House is a non-profit community home for living and dying where terminally ill residents spend their last days surrounded by 24/7 care, peaceful beauty, and love. This vision is now a reality. Four residents have already come, and two have gone, from the Lily House, which became their home when they had no where else to go at the end of life.
Many of us want to help Dawn in this new chapter of rebuilding a home for herself, thus we have started a Go Fund Me to channel the generosity, good will and love-filled intentions of our community.
If you are moved to do so, please feel free to contribute. Because of Dawn’s enduring dedication to the Lily House, and deep sense of giving back, 20% will go to the non-profit and Dawn will receive 80% of all donations.
Thank you friends for coming together to support Dawn and each other with love and generosity.
Peace to you.
