On January 5th 2019, at only 48 years old, my sister Dawn Hill, had a cerebellum hemorrhagic stroke.
She was transported to Overlake Hospital via ambulance where she required emergency brain surgery (Craniotomy) to release the extremely high pressure building in her skull, which was life threatening. They removed a clot approximately the size of a mandarin orange! She is currently in the ICU healing from the major surgery. Of course, she is telling every Nurse and Doctor that she's so sorry to bother them and doesn't want to put anyone out!
As many of you know, Dawn is self employed as a hair stylist. Unfortunately, she has no medical or disability insurance. The good news is since she is so young, her chances of a total recovery are excellent but it’s going to take time, patience, and several months of hard work. She has a very long road ahead of her, but Dawn has an AMAZING group of friends and family that care so very much for her. The outpouring of support from her friends has been incredible, and I can't thank you enough for loving her like I do.
She is one of the most giving people I've ever known in my life. She has served her country in the military, donates her time and hairdressing skills to multiple charities, and even cooks some of the tastiest dishes for her friends! Along with everything else, she also lives with and takes care of her elderly mother who had a debilitating stroke just last year.
Anything you are able to contribute will be so helpful to her. Let's help her get the very best care we can and get her back to that wonderful, fun-loving gal we all know and love!
