Dayna fights cancer, again...

Hi everyone! My name is Dayna Jazmin (or DJ) and I am a 28 year old Houston native who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma (blood cancer) again. I was diagnosed with Stage II Primary Mediastinal Bulky B Cell Lymphoma (PMBCL) on January 23, 2023. I did 6 chemotherapy treatments and 17 radiation treatments. I was in remission for 4 months. Unfortunately, the cancer is back as of February 20, 2024 and I will need to do treatment again. I will be doing 4 chemotherapy treatments for 1 day every 3 weeks and possibly radiation too. CAR T cell therapy and stem cell transplant are also a possibility, but only if I don’t respond well to chemotherapy this time.

I had just started recovering financially, emotionally, and physically from my first diagnosis a few weeks before I was given the heart wrenching news. I am unsure how my body will respond to this treatment, but one thing I am certain about is I will often need to be off work for treatment related things. I was approved for intermittent FMLA again, which will only protect my job while I am off work some days (unpaid). I will run out of vacation and sick time soon, and my paychecks will be short again. I will not be able to handle the financial part of this on my own including personal things such as car note, insurance, groceries, parking at the oncology center, gas (or Uber if I feel too sick to drive). I do not like asking for financial assistance, but I will be in a tough financial situation again. I would appreciate any help that I can get.
