Dayton & Michelle Scoggins Fire Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
On Tuesday morning, September 27th, our mother, Michelle Scoggins and step-father, Dayton Scoggins, lost their home, all belongings inside their home and car in a fire.
Adding to this disastrous event, the fire inspectors are leaning heavily towards this being arson because their home was robbed, and their side-by-side was stolen that same morning.
Though we are blessed that they weren’t home when this took place and that they’re unharmed, Dayton & Michelle's entire lives were turned upside down in a matter of minutes.
Their manufactured home had recently been completed with a newly remolded kitchen. But sadly, because of the age of their double-wide, they will not be reimbursed adequately by insurance to replace their home & 24 years' worth of belongings.
We can't imagine the countless and irreplaceable memories that have been so tragically taken away from them - chainsaw carvings, artwork, pictures, mementos, documents and papers. Everything!
Dayton and Michelle are now currently staying in a hotel while trying to figure out their next steps forward.
As many of you know, their home was a safe haven for chainsaw carving artists from all over the world. Many of your carvings were made to be a part of that home literally holding up the porch's roof circling the house.
( See pictures in the post : )
We are starting this Go-Fund-Me in hopes of raising enough money to help them with all the costs associated with rebuilding a new home, and to help ease just a little the financial burden of starting all over.
Thank you ahead of time for all your contributions, your help, and your prayers in this time of need. We are so grateful to hear that so many of you are already trying to help in many different ways.
We’ll continue to post updates here as we know more and as plans evolve.
