Help Prevent Eviction: Support Needed Now

Donation protected
Today (March 8) a warning notice of eviction was taped to my front door. Nothing has been officially filed yet, so I still have a chance to pay what is owed to remain in the apartment.

As has been the case for almost a year now, I currently remain unemployed as of March 8, 2025. I'm having a hard time securing even the most menial of jobs. Most of what is available in my area are part-time $11 an hour positions. I could work two of these jobs, but I can't seem to manage to get hired for one. I put in applications daily and get zero responses. Most higher-paying full-time jobs usually require technical or mechanical skills and certification that I don't have, and most require you to have your own reliable transportation.

I lost my car a year ago when the engine blew out, which further limits my options for employment in a town where public transit is not 24/7. So, any job starting at or before 6 am (which is most of them), there is no way to arrive on time. There is no service on Sundays or late night for 2nd or 3rd shift positions.

I am currently half a month's rent behind for February ($325) and 7 days late for March ($625). I also have a past due amount of $212.80 for phone bills consisting of past due payments that were on a payment plan, plus the past due current bill which precludes any further extension on this bill. This is due Monday, March 10th.

For most of the year, I have been making partial payments each week to my landlord from money that I am able to scrape up that comes in from eBay sales, art commissions, and the kind contributions of others. Thankfully, this arrangement has been acceptable to my landlord as long as I let them know about it. As it stands now, I have been stalling since the middle of February (having paid half of the rent for that month by then) while trying to accumulate a substantial amount for the rest of February's rent and having any income that was coming in eaten up by autopay utility bills and food. A few days ago, the landlord requested a written "payment plan" from me on when I intend to pay the rent in full. I responded explaining my situation (which they are already aware of), and the notice was left on my door today. I have previously been denied any assistance from social/public services because I am childless and don't currently have a full-time job. I was being run around in circles by these services, being told to try other resources that had already firmly denied me. This seemed like a dead-end waste of time, but I will attempt to apply for Public Assistance again.

This week, I had been counting on a high-ticket auction item that had several watchers, which didn't sell. I currently have 65 active auctions (most with zero watchers) ending within the next few days to a week. I will be listing another 30 or so today as "buy it now" items, although I think people tend to indefinitely sit on watched items when they are listed in this way. Unfortunately, none of these sales are guaranteed. I am scraping the barrel and running out of stuff to list that would be in any sort of demand.

I am now consulting with the local CareerLink office, which offers programs and assistance in finding a job, as well as an alternative source for job listings.

I have been trying to do what I can to not have to resort to crowdfunding (again), but every day brings new unforeseen setbacks and the stress and frustration of the situation is getting to be overwhelming with each new barrier to stability, and today's main event has only made it worse.
